Hair & Beauty Holiday Essentials

On Friday I got home from a week spent in sunny Lanzarote with my boyfriend. I had an amazing time and I am so sad to be back to reality and work! While I was away I was thinking of some posts I could write and decided at this time of year it’s always interesting to read some “holiday essential” type posts. I like reading about what other bloggers take on holiday and pick up some tips along the way – so I hope I can help some people too! I could have wrote about lots of items from sun-cream to mascara; but I have kept it to 5 items which I thought were great when I was away!

I got the smoky eye palette from H&M. It was just a random purchase as it caught my eye in the queue line. I found that it has been perfect for a very natural make-up look (something I like to stick to on holiday). I was surprised at how pigmented each shade is especially for only costing about £3.00! I liked to wear the brightest colour in the inner-corner of my eye, the tan shade on the rest of the lid and sometimes a darker colour in at my lash line! I would say a smoky palette is a must for a summer holiday; I never want my make up to be too drastic when I’m away anyway!

Vaseline to keep my lips nice and soft! Im not sure if your lips can burn?? But sometimes they felt a bit sore and I swear they have changed colour since being away but maybe it’s just because I’ve got a tan… Anyway, I made sure to always have Vaseline on me! I prefer the aloe vera type as its extra hydrating and tastes nicer than the normal one! I never wore lipstick once when I was away, instead I applied some of my rimmel lip liner, smudged it a bit and wore this on top!

I got the Seventeen metallic cream as part of a set for Christmas and I use it as a highlighter. I used it on the highest point of my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose. It just gave a nice healthy glow to my skin and it also helps brighten your face, especially when you aren’t applying too many products.

The last two items go together – Lee Stafford leave in conditioner and a tangle teezer. I have already written a post about the Lee Stafford product which you can read here, but I LOVE it, and would not dry my hair without it now. I always use a tangle teezer when i’m at home, but it’s very useful to have on holiday! Especially if you’re in the sea or swimming pool your hair will probably be a bit more tangled. I’m trying to grow my hair long so I did not want it to get damaged further after being in the sun all day!!

These items, for me, are a must and I will be taking them with me when I go to Spain again in a couple of months! I only ever wear make-up at night when i’m on holiday… during the day I just like to be completely natural and the sun has improved my skin while I was away which is great, hopefully it stays like this!! Well, I hope you found this post helpful, let me know in the comments! : )

  1. Hey 🙂

First of all, oh my Gosh, I am obsessed with the photos you took. I just love them! 😀 Great job! (if you don’t mind me asking, which camera/lense do you use?)

Secondly, congratulations on successfully choosing only 5 items to bring. I applaud you for that. 😀

I just love the products that you picked and I could see myself bringing the same things. ( as well as half of my makeup collection, because you never know! 😀 )

    Lovely post!
    Have a great day/night.
